Sir Chandrika Prasad Srivastava, KCMG (Sir C.P.), was one of India’s most distinguished civil servants, diplomats and international administrators. As Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), a specialised agency of the United Nations (UN), he played a leading role in advancing international maritime cooperation, shipping safety and global maritime law.
Throughout his remarkable career, Sir C.P. Srivastava served with exceptional integrity, wisdom and dedication, earning worldwide respect for his leadership, diplomacy and commitment to public service. His contributions to international governance, maritime affairs and the United Nations continue to be recognised around the world.
Sir C.P. was also the devoted husband of HH Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, founder of Sahaja Yoga Meditation, and a loving father. While supportingHH Shri Mataji in Her worldwide mission to establish Sahaja Yoga, he often acknowledged Her as the visionary whose purity, strength and encouragement inspired and sustained his life’s work.
